Blockchain Intelligence,
Built for Victims
Not Just Numbers.

We are a specialist blockchain forensics firm founded in 2022, built on a single conviction: that the transparency of the blockchain should work for victims of crypto fraud, not against them. We provide blockchain transaction tracing, produce court-admissible forensic evidence, and connect victims with the legal pathways to act.

// Our Story

From a Simple Observation
to a Forensics Firm

BlockTrace Forensics was founded in 2022 after our founders observed a pattern that was repeating across the crypto industry: stolen funds were traceable on-chain, but victims had nowhere to turn. Law enforcement lacked blockchain expertise. Exchanges stonewalled requests without legal authority. And victims were left with technical evidence they couldn't interpret or act on.

We built BlockTrace to close that gap. Our firm combines deep blockchain analytics expertise, working relationships with exchange compliance teams globally, and a process for producing structured, court-ready forensic evidence that can actually move legal proceedings forward. We don't promise outcomes — we build the strongest possible evidentiary foundation for the legal and law enforcement systems to act on.

What Drives Everything We Do

Our values aren't a wall poster — they're the constraints we operate inside every day.

Evidence First, Always
Every claim we make is traceable to an on-chain data point, a transaction hash, or a confirmed blockchain event. We do not speculate. We do not over-promise. We document — and we document rigorously, because our reports may one day be read by a judge.
Absolute Confidentiality
Every case we handle is bound by strict confidentiality. We offer NDAs as standard. No case details, no client identities, no investigation findings are ever shared outside the engagement. Discretion is not a feature — it is foundational to how we operate.
Honest About Limits
We do not guarantee fund recovery. We don't take cases on pure contingency because doing so would create incentives to over-promise. We tell clients what the on-chain evidence shows, what legal and exchange routes exist, and what is realistically achievable — then we do the work.
Global & Jurisdiction-Agnostic
Crypto fraud does not respect borders. Our methodologies, tools, and legal referral network cover over 68 countries. We work with attorneys and exchange compliance teams across the UK, US, EU, Australia, Singapore, UAE, and beyond — wherever the funds have gone.
Speed When It Matters
Fresh cases are warmer cases. Early on-chain movement is harder to obscure; exchange holds filed quickly are more likely to succeed. Our 90-minute emergency response protocol exists because we understand that time lost in the first 48 hours is often permanent.
Victims, Attorneys & Compliance Teams
Our clients are individual fraud victims, law firms building crypto cases, and compliance teams inside financial institutions conducting internal investigations. We adapt our deliverables — and our communication — to the audience and the stakes of each engagement.
// How We Investigate

Our Forensic Methodology

A structured, repeatable process built on the same principles used by law enforcement and financial intelligence units — applied to the speed and scale demands of private casework.

01
On-Chain Graph Analysis
We construct a complete directed transaction graph from the victim's source wallet — mapping every hop, cluster, and bridge across all connected chains. We use blockchain intelligence platforms including Chainalysis Reactor and TRM Labs to enrich each node with entity attribution, risk scores, and OFAC/sanctions flags. Every wallet cluster identified is documented with the on-chain heuristics that linked it.
02
VASP Attribution & Exchange Identification
Virtual Asset Service Provider attribution determines exactly which regulated exchanges, OTC desks, or custodial wallets hold the stolen funds at any point in time. We cross-reference known VASP deposit address clusters with our on-chain trace to identify where funds have landed — and file legal hold requests directly with exchange compliance teams in the relevant jurisdiction.
03
Mixer & Privacy Protocol Analysis
When stolen funds pass through mixers (e.g. Bitcoin mixing services, Tornado Cash), privacy coins, or cross-chain bridges, we apply timing analysis, UTXO clustering, peeling chain detection, and known-output correlation to maintain trace continuity. OFAC sanctions data on Tornado Cash-linked addresses is integrated into our reports to support exchange compliance requests.
04
Cross-Chain & Multi-Network Tracing
Fraudsters routinely bridge stolen assets across chains to create investigative dead-ends. We trace across Bitcoin, Ethereum, TRON, Solana, BNB Chain, Polygon, Avalanche, and 35+ other networks — maintaining a continuous evidential thread even when assets change chain, change token standard, or are swapped through decentralised exchanges.
05
Scam Infrastructure Investigation
Beyond the blockchain, we investigate the off-chain infrastructure operated by fraudsters: websites, domain registration records, hosting providers, social media accounts, and phone number attribution. This intelligence is used to build a complete picture of the fraud operation — necessary for law enforcement referrals, court injunctions, and civil asset recovery proceedings.
06
Court-Admissible Forensic Reporting
All BlockTrace investigations conclude with a structured report by a certified blockchain forensics expert — prepared to court-admissible standards with full chain-of-custody documentation, signed analyst attestation, timestamped evidence logs, and clear lay-language summaries alongside technical appendices. Our blockchain forensics experts have had reports accepted in criminal and civil proceedings across the UK, USA, EU, Australia, Singapore, Canada, and many other jurisdictions.
