BlockTrace Forensics — Terms of Service

Acceptance of Terms

By contacting BlockTrace Forensics, submitting a case intake form, signing an engagement letter, or making payment for services, you ("Client") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.

If you are engaging on behalf of a company or law firm, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

Scope of Services

BlockTrace Forensics provides blockchain forensic and intelligence services including, but not limited to:

• On-chain transaction tracing and wallet clustering
• Scam and fraud investigation
• Court-ready forensic report preparation
• Exchange intelligence and asset freeze coordination
• Expert witness support for legal proceedings
• Emergency response for active theft events

The specific scope of each engagement is defined in a signed Statement of Work or Engagement Letter. In the event of conflict, the Engagement Letter prevails over these general terms.

Client Obligations

To enable effective investigation, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information about your case
• Respond to our requests for additional information promptly
• Not withhold any information that may be material to the investigation
• Use our services only for lawful purposes
• Not share our proprietary investigation methodologies with third parties
• Keep your account credentials secure if using our client portal

Providing false or misleading information may result in immediate termination of services without refund.

Fees & Payment

Fees are agreed upon in writing before work commences. Our fee structures include:

• Fixed-fee engagements: Defined scope, agreed price
• Hourly retainers: Billed in increments, invoiced monthly
• Success-linked components: Where applicable, clearly defined in the Engagement Letter

Payment is due within 14 days of invoice. Late payments accrue interest at 1.5% per month. We reserve the right to pause work on unpaid accounts.

Limitation of Liability

BlockTrace Forensics provides investigative services on a best-efforts basis. We make no guarantee of asset recovery. Our liability is limited as follows:

• Total liability shall not exceed the fees paid for the specific engagement
• We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages
• We are not responsible for actions taken by exchanges, law enforcement, or courts
• Investigation outcomes depend on on-chain evidence availability and third-party cooperation

Intellectual Property

Forensic reports produced by BlockTrace Forensics are provided to the Client for their personal and legal use. The Client may share reports with their legal counsel, law enforcement, and courts.

Our proprietary methodologies, tools, and processes remain the intellectual property of BlockTrace Forensics. The Client may not reverse-engineer, reproduce, or commercialise our methods.

Termination

Either party may terminate an engagement with 7 days written notice. Upon termination:

• All work completed to date will be invoiced and must be paid
• Partially completed deliverables may be provided at our discretion
• We will return or securely destroy your case materials upon written request
• Confidentiality obligations survive termination indefinitely

We may terminate immediately and without notice if the Client provides materially false information or uses our services for illegal purposes.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except where the Client has the right to bring claims in small claims court.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under applicable consumer protection laws.
